QLED Samsung is bringing to the mid-range. Samsung is promising of 20 hours of battery life with QLED displays in Galaxy Book Ion line laptops. Well, it is going to be more interesting than Samsung’s Flex flagship laptops. With wireless device charging and brand new QLED displays, Samsung has introduced unique devices from time to time and Samsung Galaxy Book Ion is being one of them. The impression is at first glance, but these laptops’ worthiness is price dependence. For now, let’s just see what features can work better for you.

Price, release date and specifications

The release date is not out yet. Unfortunately, the price is also not disclosed. Still, the expected release is in early 2020. The flagship Flex platform of Samsung, the hardware just has few differences in the upcoming Galaxy Book Ion line laptops. Both 13.3-inch and 15.6-inch versions laptops will have14-nanometer (nm) chips with 10th generation Intel Comet Lake Core processors which support up to16GB RAM of DDR4. The display will be of 1080p (1,920 x 1,080) QLED, 1TB NVMe solid-state drives inside, Wi-Fi 6 connectivity and 720p HD webcams. Moreover, the fingerprint readers on the keyboard deck will be more exciting in these laptops. The battery is expected to 69.7 WHR. There is a difference between 13.3-inch and 15.6-inch models where the Nvidia GeForce MX250 graphics, additional SSD slot supporting to1TB more storage, and expandable RAM will be available.

Design

Samsung Galaxy Book Ion laptops are taking a basic approach to design which includes 2-in-1 laptop features. It will include 360-degree hinges, touchscreens, and a design called Book Hinge. The company can call the Book Hinge feature with any other name that Asus called this feature ErgoLift Hinge. Moreover, Samsung is also offering Ultra light laptops which is 15.6-inch with 1.19kg weighs and 13-inch with 970g weighs.

These Samsung Galaxy Book Ion laptops come in Aura Silver color with magnesium frame that can change hue according to the angle of looking at it. The colors on the QLED screen become deep and vibrant where Samsung promises better legibility with up to 600 nits bright surround. 

Performance

For now, the performance is tough to list on a hands-on review. The expectance of performance is slightly better than CPUs released earlier like Dell XPS 13. The finest thing about it gives average performance for any type of user. The storied 14nm process of chip maker is carried through Intel Comet Lake. It must be cheaper than the laptop containing 10nm Ice Lake chips. Promising to 20 hours battery life, Galaxy Book Ion is of the exact same battery.

As the early verdict, it could be said that The Samsung Galaxy Book Ion line laptops are much better than Flex laptops. With more promises of Samsung, the touchscreens, flexible hinges, a 15.6-inch version, and many other features will be available. With no price and releasing date, the only expectation is of 2020 last month releasing. With comparison, the Galaxy Book Ion line can perform better than earlier laptops.
